Michael Keerdo-Dawson Jac Beth's jazz infused folk is such a natural blend of the genres that I'm shocked I've never heard the combination before - the rustic lyrics and her incredible voice are straight out of the contemporary folk music almanac, but lilting sax and the improvisational-ish piano take this EP somewhere else. A fine record indeed! Favorite track: Mind Mines.

Would you believe me, if I said/ I saw a butterfly, with its wings shed/ Like me too, still somehow got away// Don't like the, pressure of today/ There's nothing, I could do or say/ To please you all now, to appease your ways// And I take it, so personally/ I don't know how to change// Sometimes when I wake up, I'm really waking dead/ I shake the dew drop webs, from inside my head/ Thick fog lurks as I, as I look ahead// Don't think that this will, will ever change/ This living is, designed to be a maze/ Only you can choose, to be amazed// And I take it, so passionately/ I don't know how to change//

Looking inside, made up of all the corners we're, wanting to hide/ We've never seen, where we've been/ I can't remember any of my dreams from when, I was 17// Maybe if I could, I'd know how to fix these times Maybe if I could, I'd know how to be behind Maybe if I could, I'd know how to fix these seams, How to live in my dreams, how to live in my dreams// It's in every child, it's born when we open our eyes/ Stand with our spine unafraid to say, goodbye/ Prove, to who? A second chance, to throw behind and long to reach into the trance// Maybe if I could, I'd know how to fix these times Maybe if I could, I'd know how to be behind Maybe if I could, I'd know how to fix these seams, How to live in my dreams, How to, live in my dreams How to, live in my dreams, Live in my dreams.

Take a, face To find, space To find, a safe head to dream in Find it's all, Inside you fall, It's the way to find yourself, crawling down Down// Find it's, today That you, will say What you're, fearing to be heard It's not a thing To fear, or sing Just say it, because it's time to Celebrate, everything Everything you hate // It's a safe, glean for all It's a safe, thing to call But what are you, calling to? What are you, Calling to // Sailor, harpy Don't leave it, it's time to leave your Lock on the shore, she's calling for more She won't stop 'til you take it- There Deep in the shore, She's calling for more Voice echoes more, More - Take me a day Take it for a day Don't stop until you take it- There //
5.
What do you believe, you deserve, of me? What about the ghost inside that wants, to be seen? There was a time that it was the essence, of me I can't let this time, let it die I must let it be // Take it all, I don't think so That isn't what we are all here for The mirror that you hold so self righteously Doesn't prove at all what is within me // I can see for myself there are shadows you have shelved, For the day when you can sell them all, and bask in the wealth/ But have you thought there could be a moment you've already cast away? Now you don't know what to do with all you have in this day Take it all, I don't think so That isn't what we are all here for The mirror that you hold so self righteously Doesn't prove at all what is within me //
